WhatsApp: Red Hook Response

Join the new neighborhood-wide response, recovery, and resilience WhatsApp group. We’re partnering with other CBOs to build an always-ready network that can be activated when we need it most.

R.E.D.E.E FEST WORKBOOK

We have created an Emergency Preparedness Guide and Workbook that has resources, pro tips, and worksheets for you to peruse and fill out. Download the pdf version or use the digital version.

Red Hook Emergency Tools

Each year, we'll ask you to update this survey so we know where emergency tools and skills are located in Red Hook.

If there ever is an emergency, we will start with a DECENT idea of the resources in our community and who to contact.

This type of mapping will ALSO occur for residents, so we'll have a broader view of tools in the wider neighborhood.

INSURANCE COVERAGE CLINIC

PRE CLINIC SELF PREP SURVEY

1. Use this form to do a "self-check" (you can also work on it at the Sun May 31 gathering when we will have some Study Hall time). Do as much as you can before the Clinic on June 2 (and then bring your policy documents to the event on a laptop/tablet, or paper)

2. Even if you don't attend, use this as a self-check to guide a conversation with your broker.

3. The data you provide will help us explain the insurance issues faced by Red Hook Biz! (please consent to this use at the bottom of this form)

GENERATORS 101

Generators are a critical part of resilience in a disaster, but it’s best to make sure your generator is ready to go in the event of an emergency. We're encouraging everyone to get their generators going… SAFELY… throughout the month of May, ahead of flood season. You are welcome to join us in generator start up day at noon on Sunday May 31. Use the Generator 101 sheet to help get you started.

If you need help troubleshooting your generator, drop a line in the WhatsApp chat.

SBA/EIDL Quick Start Guide

If you were affected by the 481 Van Brunt fire, you may be eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans, even if you're a freelancer, independent contractor, or artist without an LLC. Download our quick start guide to understand the difference between Physical Disaster Loans (for damaged property and equipment) and EIDL loans (for lost income and ongoing business expenses), what documents you'll need, key deadlines, and answers to the most common questions we've heard from our community.

The SBA loan deadline is March 14, 2026. The EIDL deadline is August 14, 2026.
